Trey Helms,
our director, has been involved with handbells since the age
of ten. He has rung with Robert Ivey of First Presbyterian
Church and Dr. William Payn at Bucknell University. Trey
received an organ scholarship while attending Bucknell and
sang with Rooke Chapel Choir. He has also rung and substitute
conducted Rooke Chapel Ringers. Being Director of Queen City
Ringers, Inc. has truly been an honor and privilege for
Trey. He was clinician in 1999 for the handbell festival at
Lutheridge in Arden, NC, and in 2000 in West Jefferson for
the High Country Handbell Festival. Professionally, he is a
Property Manager for a local real estate firm.

Allison Keisler, Assistant Director, has been ringing handbells since the age of 9. She is an Appalachian State University graduate with a degree in Music Education. Currently she directs the bell choir at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Hickory. Allison also teaches chorus and handbells at Bandys High School in Catawba and is the assistant band director to her husband, Ben. They have three children, Caitlyn, Noah, and Gabriel.

Kathy Buckingham
Kathy Buckingham learned to love handbells at First Presbyterian Church, Parkersburg, West Virginia, where she was a member of the handbell choir for over 15 years. When not playing handbells, she likes to read, bake and relax at the beach. Kathy works as an Administrative Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She and her husband, Bill, have three grown children and reside in Harrisburg.

Penny Damron
is organist for A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church in
Charlotte and is also a wholesale florist. She has a passion
for music that ringing handbells for QCR fulfills.

Brenda
d’Happart
has been been playing handbells since 1974 with various
groups in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She has been a
member of QCR since November, 1997. Brenda is an Information
System Support Analyst with Wachovia Corporation and lives
in Concord.

Mary Beth Edwards recently moved to the Charlotte area from Texarkana, TX, with her husband, Steve. She began ringing handbells at age 12, and has been involved ringing or directing ever since! Mary Beth also rings with the Glasgow Ringers at First Presbyterian Church and is very involved in the music ministry at her church, Indian Trail First Baptist |

Aaron Lafrienere is new to the world of handbells and a newcomer to the Queen City Ringers. He has only just begun to play bells a year ago; however, he is no stranger to music. He has been playing clarinet since the age of ten and went on to major in music education at Appalachian State University. While there, he was introduced to singing and spread into many vocal ensembles as well. He has been singing ever since, has performed in musicals at The Green Room in Newton, and is a member of the Lake Norman Orchestra. Aaron teaches chorus and handbells at Maiden Middle School and is working towards his Masters in Music Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. |

Ellen Moretz has been involved with handbells both as a ringer and a director since the 1960's, and is very passionate about the art. She is the director of music at A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church and served as NC State Chair for AGEHR Area III for seven years.

Jennifer Poulsen
has been ringing since she attended
elementary school in various choirs, ensembles, and as
a soloist. She lives with her husband and son in
Gastonia and enjoys teaching at a local elementary
school. |

Milton Sheffield
started ringing handbells in 1980 with his church's youth handbell choir. He is a member of Weddington UMC where he plays in the adult handbell choir. Milton works for the Weyerhaeuser/Recycling Division in Charlotte and lives in Indian Trail with his wife, Sarah.

Sarah Sheffield
starting ringing handbells in 1994 and has been with QCR since 2002. She directs three handbells choirs and a 1 children's choir at Weddington UMC. Sarah's full time job is as an insurance agent and is married to fellow QCR member - Milton. .

Beth Turbyfill has been ringing for about 23 years. She plays for the New Jerusalem Lutheran Handbell choir. She comes from a family of musical talents and has always been involved with music in one way or another. Beth works at an advertising and design agency in Charlotte as a production artist and resides in Hickory. |

Lisa Woerner works for the Performing Arts Center, Ovens Auditorium and is also a travel consultant. She purchased the G8 handbell in honor of her mother, Lydia.

Suzanne Worley returned to QCR after graduate school in occupational therapy and has been ringing for 16 years. She began ringing with Robert Ivey at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and toured several states and countries with his high school choir. Suzanne is an occupational therapist, working in Salisbury. She lives in Charlotte with her husband Steven and infant son Benjamin.
